Ah! The mystery of the building at the corner of Lynch and 11th Streets in St. Louis, Missouri...
Spoiler alert... it is striving to be some kind of a bar.
But there will be cooking and sewing along with the drinking. Maybe not by you, but maybe.
Susan and Jeff are the characters coaxing the building back into service, arm wrestling over how to weave old and new elements together in a building that has been many things over the past 150 years.
Ideal Garment, Susan's long love affair with fabric and clothing, is percolating on the second floor.
Fermentation will be the name of the game on the first floor, with a pizza-curious bread oven finding its sea legs in the former kitchen, and Jeff pondering where to put beer taps, and what to pour out of them. Wine will probably be poured out of bottles, but we're open minded.
We'll see how it all ends up.
If you have been curious enough to visit this page, please stop by the building if you see people there, and introduce yourself. Especially if you are one of our neighbors! We are still months from having a liquor license, so we are free to offer you a drink, and hear your memories of the building in its previous incarnations, or hopes for its future. It is especially easy to find us on the patio at the end of the day when the weather is nice. Ideal Garment will have some visiting hours during the winter months.
